Here is how to make it:
The mix is super simple to make and since you can freeze it, you can prep for the family Christmas party way ahead of time. Rejoice! All you need is some cream, salted butter, brown sugar and a few holiday spices: cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Using a mixer, beat the butter and sugar together, then add in the spices and the cream. Blend it all until it is smooth and store it in a freezer safe container, and stick it in the freezer until needed.
Then, just add three generous spoonfuls to the bottom of a mug, along with a shot of spiced rum and half a cup of hot water. Mix it well and enjoy!
You really need this hot buttered rum recipe, so here it is!
- 1 stick of salted butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
- 3 spoonfuls of the mix
- 1 shot of spiced rum
- 1/2 cup of hot water
- whipped cream to top, optional
- Cream the sugar and butter together in a mixer.
- Add in the cream and mix well.
- Add in the vanilla extract and the spices and mix until incorporated.
- Add 3 spoonfuls of the mix to the bottom of a mug.
- Add in a shot of rum and mix well.
- Add in the 1/2 cup of hot water, and mix it until the mix has dissolved.
- Top with whipped cream and enjoy!
